Wasipewura Applauds Minister’s Visit, Calls for Irrigation Project in the District

The Paramount Chief of the Wasipe Traditional Area, Yiram Wasipewura Anyame Kabasagya II, has commended Savannah Regional Minister Hon. Salisu Bi-Awurbi Esq. for his visit, describing it as a significant milestone in the area's development.

He also appealed for North Gonja to be considered for an irrigation project under the Resetting Ghana Agenda.

In a speech delivered on his behalf by Tandawura Alhaji Mohammed Amin, Wasipewura highlighted the region’s agricultural potential and the need for government support.

“We believe your presence marks a significant milestone in our development journey. We are eager to explore new opportunities, particularly the possibility of North Gonja being selected to pilot the new irrigation project.

"With our vast virgin lands, streams, and proximity to the White Volta River, we are confident that North Gonja is an ideal location. Additionally, we have a ready workforce to support the project’s success.”

In response, the Minister assured Wasipewura that the request would be given due consideration when the opportunity arises.
