West Gonja MCE Nominee Promises to Partner Stakeholders for Development



The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) nominee for West Gonja Municipality, Hon. Yakubu Yussif Castro, has promised to work closely with all stakeholders to advance the development of the municipality.

 

Speaking in an interview with Kashafmonline.com, after receiving the good news, he expressed his profound gratitude to His Excellency John Dramani Mahama for nominating him for the role.

 

He also extended appreciation to the traditional authorities, His Royal Majesty Yagbonwura Bii-Kunuto Jewu Soale I, Damongowura Seidu Kelley Boresa, and Busunuwura Monasa Jonokpawo II for their leadership and efforts in maintaining unity during the period without an MCE.

 

He further acknowledged the support of the people of West Gonja, regardless of political affiliation, for warmly receiving his nomination.

 

“I am very ready to team up with all stakeholders within the municipality to forge forward the development of West Gonja Municipality”.

 

He expressed optimism that the assembly members will give him their full endorsement during the confirmation process.

 

He commended Hon. Adam Mutawakilu, Managing Director of the Ghana Water Company Limited, and the Member of Parliament for Damongo, Hon. Samuel Abu Jinapor, for their continued contributions to development in the municipality.

 

Hon. Yakubu Yussif Castro’s nomination on April 4, 2025, was met with extensive approval acros the constituency, credited to his humility, honesty, and long-standing commitment to the National Democratic Congress (NDC). 


Over the years, he has served the party in various capacities and played a pivotal role in the 2024 general elections by supporting Hon. Adam Mutawakilu’s parliamentary campaign through an intensive door-to-door outreach across the constituency.

 

His nomination signals a renewed hope for unity and progress in the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and West Gonja Municipality as a whole.
