The King and Overlord of the Gonja Kingdom, Yagbonwura Bii-Kunuto Jewu Soale I, has appointed Mr. Habibu Muftawu as the Coordinator in charge of Scholarships for the Bii-Kunuto Educational Fund.
The appointment, communicated in a letter dated April 3, 2025, was made in accordance with the traditions and authority vested in the Yagbonwura by the skins and customs of the Gonja Kingdom.
According to the King, the appointment recognizes Mr. Muftawu’s unwavering dedication to education, his integrity, and his commitment to youth development in the Kingdom.
As Coordinator, Mr. Muftawu will lead efforts to facilitate both local and international scholarships for about 50 students annually, beginning this year.
The initiative forms a core part of the objectives of the Bii-Kunuto Educational Fund, which aims to support students pursuing various fields of study.
The appointment takes immediate effect and will remain valid unless otherwise determined by the King.
Yagbonwura Bii-Kunuto expressed strong confidence in Mr. Muftawu’s ability to carry out the responsibilities of the role with honor, fairness, accountability, and transparency.
