The Gonjaland Youth Association (GLYA) has called for calm following rising tensions over the nomination of a new Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for the Bole Municipality.

In a statement released on Saturday, May 3, and signed by the national President Al-Hassan Baba Darison, the association acknowledged the concerns of some youth groups in Bole.

While appreciating their commitment to the area’s development, GLYA urged all parties to remain calm and engage in dialogue.

“As an organization dedicated to peace, development, and unity in Gonjaland, we are in discussions with key stakeholder including traditional leaders, political actors, and government officials to find a peaceful and mutually beneficial resolution,” the statement noted.

The association cautioned against any actions that could threaten the peace and stability of the municipality.

GLYA also expressed appreciation for individuals and groups working quietly to help resolve the matter and reaffirmed its commitment to fairness, transparency, and the welfare of the people.

"We encourage all residents to uphold peace as we seek a solution that reflects the collective aspirations and progress of Bole”.
