Chaliwura Enskinment Will Bring Development to Damongo – Deputy Minister Assures Damongowura

The Deputy Minister for Lands and Natural Resources and Member of Parliament for Bole-Bamboi, Hon. Alhaji Yusif Sulemana, has expressed deep appreciation to the Paramount Chief of the Damongo Traditional Area, Jira Kelly Seidu Boresa (I), for honouring his family with the enskinment of Hon. Techi Dari as Chaliwura of the Damongo Traditional Area.

Speaking at the Damongowura’s Palace after the ceremony, Hon. Sulemana described the recognition as a great honour not only to him personally but also to the entire Chaliwura Kanamaluwe Dari Techi family, whose legacy of service and kindness, he said, continues to inspire many across generations.

The Deputy Minister assured the Damongowura that the new enskinment would open doors for development in Damongo, promising that “agents of development will soon visit the palace to deliberate on key issues aimed at transforming the area.”

He pledged to use his position in government to support the Damongo Traditional Council in implementing projects that would improve the lives of residents.

Sharing fond memories, Hon. Sulemana recounted how Chaliwura Kanamaluwe Dari Techi and his wives cared for him during his days at Damongo Senior High School and even supported him through his university education. He described the family as a “pillar of compassion and generosity.”

The Deputy Minister also appealed to residents of Damongo and the wider traditional area to unite behind the Damongowura and the newly enskinned Chaliwura to foster peace and progress.

“Let us all unite behind our chiefs and work together for the development of Damongo. When there is unity, development naturally follows,” he urged.

The colourful ceremony drew a large gathering of traditional and opinion leaders, family members, and well-wishers who came to witness the occasion.
