Mahama Cuts Sod for Wenchi–Bole–Sawla–Wa Road Project

President John Dramani Mahama has cut the sod for the commencement of the Wenchi–Bole–Sawla–Wa Road Project under his government’s Big Push Initiative, a flagship infrastructure drive aimed at improving transportation and stimulating economic growth across the Savannah and Upper West Regions.

The project has been divided into five lots, with construction on all sections expected to proceed simultaneously to ensure timely completion.

It also covers the reconstruction of the Fufulso–Sawla Road, a critical route linking several communities and facilitating trade and movement in the area.

As part of the initiative, the Bole township roads will be dualized, giving the town a modern facelift and improving traffic flow.

To guarantee quality delivery, the government has awarded the contracts to reputable construction firms, while the Ministry of Roads and Highways and the Ghana Highway Authority will provide strict supervision throughout the execution phase.

The entire project is expected to be completed within 24 months, though contractors have pledged to finish ahead of schedule.

Once completed, the Wenchi–Bole–Sawla–Wa Road Project is anticipated to significantly enhance regional connectivity, promote commerce, and open up new socio-economic opportunities for communities along the corridor.
