Dr. Kwabena Mensah Crowned Savannah Region’s Overall Best Farmer

 



The Savannah Region has celebrated one of its finest agricultural icons as Dr. Kwabena Mensah from Bole emerged the Overall Best Farmer at the 2025 Regional Farmers Day held in Kuwani, East Gonja.


Dr. Mensah, a distinguished and hardworking farmer, was honoured for his exceptional contribution to food production, innovation in farming practices, and his commitment to supporting community livelihoods across the region.


As part of his award package, he was presented with a Tricycle Motor King, a mistblower, Wellington boots, a knapsack sprayer, a cutlass, and Yara fertilizer. The items represent both a reward for his efforts and an investment in the continued growth of his farming activities.


Speaking at the forum, the Savannah Regional Minister, Hon. Salisu Be-Awuribe, Esq., commended Dr. Mensah for his unwavering dedication to the agricultural sector. 


He described him as a shining example of commitment, innovation, and resilience, adding that his achievements reflect the spirit of the region’s hardworking farmers. The Minister reaffirmed the government’s readiness to support farmers with improved inputs and modern technologies to enhance productivity and sustainability.


The event, which brought together farmers, traditional leaders, agricultural officers, and community members, also served as a reminder of the importance of celebrating those who feed the nation.


Dr. Mensah expressed gratitude for the honour and encouraged young people to take an interest in agriculture, emphasizing that the sector holds immense potential for growth and prosperity.


This year’s Farmers Day was marked under the theme “Feed Ghana, Eat Ghana, Secure the Future.”
