Feed Ghana Program: Four Savannah Districts Selected for Farmer Service Centers — Hon. Salisu Be-Awuribe

Savannah Regional Minister, Hon.Salisu Be-Awuribe Esq, has announced that the government will establish Farmer Service Centers (FSCs) across the Savannah Region as part of the Feed Ghana Program, an initiative aimed at modernizing agriculture and improving rural livelihoods.

He made this announcement at this year’s Regional Farmers’ Day celebration held at Kuwani in the East Gonja Municipality.

According to the Minister, the first phase of the FSC initiative will benefit four districts:

West Gonja

Bole

East Gonja

North East Gonja

Hon. Be-Awuribe further disclosed that, in response to the prolonged dry spell of 2024, the government distributed 13,008 bags of fertilizer to 6,034 farmers, comprising 3,951 males and 2,083 females.

He added that an additional 25,000 bags of fertilizer have been secured for free distribution to boost crop productivity across the region.

The Minister emphasized that the upcoming Farmer Service Centers will serve as one-stop hubs providing access to mechanization, quality seeds, fertilizers, and extension advisory services.

This, he noted, will ensure that farmers are well-equipped to increase yields, embrace climate-smart technologies, and secure the region’s agricultural future.
