Bole MP Sets the Ball Rolling for New Infrastructure at Bole SHS

The Member of Parliament for the Bole/Bamboi Constituency, Alhaji Yussif Sulemana, has cut sod for the construction of additional infrastructure at Bole Senior High School as part of efforts to reduce congestion and improve facilities for students and staff.

The sod-cutting ceremony, held on March 7, 2026, forms part of ongoing development works at the school.

A few weeks earlier, the MP had performed a similar exercise to commence other infrastructure projects on the campus.

Speaking to the media during the ceremony, Hon. Sulemana, who also serves as Deputy Minister for Lands and Natural Resources, said the initiative is aimed at improving conditions at the school and positioning it for an upgrade to Category A status.

The projects include the construction of a storey boys’ dormitory and a girls’ dormitory, as well as an ICT laboratory and a modern assembly hall facilities the school has lacked for years.

According to the MP, his earlier visit to the school revealed serious infrastructure challenges, including limited space that forces students to eat in shifts, affecting academic activities and discipline.

To address accommodation challenges faced by teachers, Hon. Sulemana also announced the construction of four 4-in-1 bungalow facilities, which will provide a total of 16 housing units for staff.

He stressed the importance of quality work and timely completion of the projects, warning contractors against shoddy execution.

Hon. Sulemana noted that improved accommodation for teachers will encourage them to remain longer at the school, helping to create stability in teaching and learning.

The MP further explained that the projects are being funded by the Ghana Education Trust Fund, which requires contractors to begin work before receiving payment through certified stages of completion a system designed to prevent project abandonment.

Meanwhile, the Headmaster of the school, Mr. Abu Salia, expressed gratitude to the MP for facilitating the projects.

He said school authorities were initially doubtful when officials from GETFund first announced the plans, but the commencement of the projects has renewed hope for significant development.

Mr. Salia assured that management will collaborate with contractors to ensure quality delivery and also appealed to the government for additional infrastructure to support the school’s future growth.
