The Larabanga Community Library, in partnership with CAMA West Gonja, successfully organized a transformative Youth Empowerment Program aimed at preparing BECE candidates for academic excellence and responsible living.
The impactful event held at the Larabanga Community Library premises on April 28, 2026, was coordinated by the Librarian Madam Fuseina Adams, whose consistent efforts continue to uplift education within the community.
The session featured insightful guidance from distinguished speakers, including Hon. Hamidu Abdul Karim ( Assembly Man) Madam Ayisha Yori (Deputy Chairperson of CAMA West Gonja) and Madam Esther Apuri (Head of the Damongo Library).
They encouraged the students to uphold discipline, stay focused, and strive for excellence in their upcoming examinations.
Beneficiaries of the program included students from Nbemah Memorial, Larabanga EA Block A and B JHS, and Mole JHS.
The program covered key areas such as building meaningful connections and sharing ideas, developing strong reading habits and personal growth, as well as promoting integrity and discouraging examination malpractice.
In a major highlight of the program, the Assemblyman for the Larabanga Electoral Area, Hon. Hamidu Abdul Karim, announced a motivating initiative of free scholarships for BECE candidates who obtain aggregates between 6 and 20. This promise sparked excitement and renewed determination among the students.
This initiative continues Madam Fuseina Adams’s unwavering commitment to educational development. Since December 2024 she has led numerous impactful outreach activities, including school reading programs, read-aloud sessions with pupils, drug-abuse awareness and relationship-building workshops at Larabanga SHS, the formation of reading clubs across junior and senior high schools, and basic computer skills training for students.
Her dedication has positioned the Larabanga Community Library as a hub for learning, mentorship, and youth empowerment.
The program was proudly supported by E Cycle Foundation, Ghana, CAMA, West Gonja, and Hon. Hamidu Abdul Karim. With initiatives like this, the future of Larabanga youth looks brighter, driven by knowledge, discipline, and opportunity.
