Savannah Records Highest Youth Unemployment Rate as YEFL Ghana Empowers Youth with Start-up Tools

Youth Empowerment for Life Ghana (YEFL Ghana) has provided vocational tools and equipment to young people in Damongo in a bid to tackle rising youth unemployment and promote entrepreneurship in the Savannah Region.

The intervention forms part of the organization's commitment to equipping young people with practical resources to establish sustainable livelihoods through vocational skills and self-employment.

The initiative comes at a time when the Savannah Region continues to record the highest youth unemployment rate in Ghana, with 38.7 percent of young people without jobs, according to available statistics.

Speaking to kashafmonline.com, the Executive Director of YEFL Ghana, Mrs. Jawol Vera Magan, said the organization is committed to complementing the Government of Ghana's efforts to create employment opportunities for young people by supporting them with the tools needed to start their own businesses.

She expressed concern over the growing unemployment situation in the region, noting that empowering the youth with vocational equipment would help them become economically independent while contributing to national development.

"Our goal is to empower young people with practical tools and resources that will enable them to become self-employed and contribute meaningfully to national development. We are supporting the President's vision of reducing unemployment and creating sustainable livelihoods for the youth," she stated.

Mrs. Magan urged the beneficiaries to make productive use of the equipment, stressing that YEFL Ghana would continuously monitor their progress to ensure the tools are effectively utilized to establish viable businesses.

Speaking on behalf of the beneficiaries, Yakubu Amati Salima expressed gratitude to YEFL Ghana, describing the support as life-changing. She said the intervention had restored hope to many young people who had almost abandoned their dreams of becoming financially independent.

She assured the organization that the beneficiaries would use the equipment responsibly to build sustainable businesses and improve their standard of living.
